Pikes Peak - One of the country's oldest motor races is the Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb, which began in 1916 (only the Indianapolis 500 is older). The course is 12.42 miles, rising from 9,402 ft to 14,110 ft through 156 turns. The winner in 1989 was Robby Unser, making a remarkable 30th victory for the Unser family. The first winner was Robby's great-uncle Louis in 1934, since then seven Unsers have won, with Robby's father, Bobby, winning a record 13 climbs between 1956 and 1974. (Photo: All-Sport/Tim DeFrisco)
